Auction Guest Experience and Flow

If you are planning an auction and a live stream event, you can start/activate and publicize your auction anytime, regardless of when your event starts.

Once you activate your auction, people visiting your event page will see a button to view the auction. If you are inviting your potential guests to your event, you can send them a link for the event landing page or directly to the auction page, depending on your event.

If anyone wants to start bidding on an auction item, they will need to "register to bid" so that the system knows who they are.

When they register, they are taken to their unique secure guest page. Anyone who purchases a ticket to the event receives a unique secure link that gives them access to their specific guest page, in which they can view and bid on the auction items, view the live stream when available, and purchase any event offers and items for sale in your event and make a donation all within their guest page. For further details on Auction Guest Experience, Refer to the below articles.

All of the purchases made on this page are put on their specific guest cart, and the organizer checks out each guest at the end of the event (or anytime), charging the guest's registered card once with an itemized list of everything that the guest has purchased during that event. Refer to help article Guest Carts.

If you have a ticketed virtual event, when someone registers to bid in an auction, they would need to purchase a ticket to register for the auction. (note that for an in-person event, there's also a path where guests may register to bid on the auction only without physically attending the event or purchasing a ticket).   If you are distinguishing between event ticket holders versus auction participants, then you may consider creating a separate free ticket that people not attending the event can purchase so that they can attend the auction only.

If you need to offer the live stream or certain event offers to only specific ticket holders, you can also do that by modifying the permissions on your Livestream. Refer to the article Exclusive Live Streaming for further details.

Please consider attending one of our demo sessions that go into these types of scenarios.
