BetterUnite Fees & Pricing

What Fees to Expect

Payment Processing Fee

All online payments via credit card or ACH are subject to payment processing fees that are required by the credit card companies. BetterUnite simply passes along these fees to the organization or the BetterUnite account holder. The organization or account holder then chooses whether to cover those fees or pass them along on an optional or mandatory basis.
  • Stripe
    • Credit Card fees: 2.9% + 30¢
  • PayPal
    • Credit Card fees: 2.59% + 49¢ 
    • PayPal and Venmo button fees:  3.49% + 49¢

BetterUnite Platform Fee

Better Unite provides three plans to cater to your needs on the platform:

  • Pay-As-You-Go (Ideal for starting on the platform)
    • 3% platform fee
    • Your donors can cover this fee, making BetterUnite free to you
    • No commitments, no monthly charges
  • Monthly Plan 
    • 2% platform fee
    • Paid monthly. Requires annual commitment
    • Your donors can cover this fee making BetterUnite free to you
  • Annual Plan
    • Zero platform fees
    • Paid annually 
    • No commitments, no monthly charges

You can give your donors the option of covering your software fees. In this case, BetterUnite suggests the full 3% or 2% to the donor, but they can uncheck “Cover Service Fees” at checkout and lower or zero out the BetterUnite fee, in which case your organization will cover only the balance.

Note: For recurring payments and membership payments, there is a fee of 50¢, $1.00 or $1.50 based on the total amount.
