Campaign Summary/Digest Emails
The campaign summary is a short digest of where a campaign stands. You can view it any time from the campaign dashboard, and you can have it emailed to yourself and others on a daily or weekly schedule.
Viewing the summary
On the campaign dashboard, click Summary (the envelope icon near the Refresh link). A popup opens with the digest.
Use the Daily and Weekly buttons at the top to switch between the two versions. They are genuinely different summaries: the daily view covers yesterday, and the weekly view covers the last seven days.
What the summary includes
- The headline figure: total raised (or hours logged, for a volunteer campaign)
- Goal progress: goal, raised, remaining, and percent complete, when the campaign has a goal
- Sales: tickets, items, giving levels, auction, and sponsorships sold
- Counts: donors, gifts, registrations, and sign-ups
- Short notes, such as the event date or upcoming shifts
Each figure also shows how much it moved during the period, for example a raised total with a change of plus 1,240, or a donor count with a change of plus 8.
Emailing the summary on a schedule
In the popup, under Email this summary, click Email it to me, then set:
- How often: Daily or Weekly (these are the only two options)
- On: the day of the week (weekly only)
- At: the hour to send, shown in your organization's time zone
- Send to: one or more email addresses, separated by commas
- Skip the email when nothing happened during the period: on by default
- Stop after: an optional end date
Click Save schedule.
Daily versus weekly
A daily schedule sends yesterday's summary, and a weekly schedule sends the last seven days. The summary knows which one it is from the schedule's frequency, so you will not receive a daily summary once a week. To move between daily and weekly, edit the existing schedule rather than adding a second one.
Managing your schedules
Each person has one summary schedule per campaign. From the same popup you can edit, pause, resume, or delete it. Users with Full Access can also see who else in the organization is receiving a summary for that campaign.
Viewing the summary is available to anyone who can open the campaign. Setting up or changing a schedule requires campaign edit access.
