Can I Check out a Shopping Cart Using Other Methods of Payment?
If the cart you're trying to check out is getting declined, or if the guest wants to pay for their purchases with another method than their registered card, you have a few options:
- Reach out to guest asking them to clear up the issue with their card and try payment again
- Replace the existing card with another card you obtain from the guest
- Process checkout via an offline payment (e.g. guest gives you a check instead)
Replacing Card
- First, you remove the guest card from their cart by clicking on Guest Carts on your Manage Event page.
- Once in the shopping cart page find the guest's cart and click on Check out as shown below.
- The pop up window will show details of the cart and on this window click on Clear pre-authenticated card and use another card.
- The image below shows that the authenticated card is removed. You can either enter a new card number or send the URL to the guest to check out using another card.
Take an offline payment
- You can also take an offline payment if the guest would rather pay without a card. To do this click on Take Offline Payment on the guest's cart options as shown below.
- On the pop up window you will have an option for the guest to pay Check, Cash etc. Choose a Payment type for your guest's cart and select Save Contribution.
