Configuring and Managing Your Volunteer Campaign
How do I configure a volunteer campaign?
You configure volunteer campaign settings from the volunteer sign-up page's Advanced Options. From there, you can turn on Gather Volunteer Information to collect volunteer details during signup, and you can use campaign settings that affect how volunteer shifts are shown in recommendations and calendar views.
How do I collect volunteer information during signup?
Open the volunteer sign-up page you're editing and go to Advanced Options.
- Select Advanced Options.
- Find Gather Volunteer Information.
- Turn the setting on.
- Save your changes.
When this setting is enabled, a signup for multiple volunteers prompts for each volunteer's details before checkout.
How are recommended volunteer shifts selected?
The Recommended for you card uses active volunteer sign-up campaigns with upcoming shifts in the next 90 days. It:
- Keeps shifts with open capacity
- Removes shifts the volunteer has already joined
- Excludes times outside the volunteer's availability or blackout dates
- Matches campaign interest tags to the volunteer's interest tags
- Ranks matches by the number of overlapping interests
- Uses the soonest shift to break ties
The card can show up to six suggested shifts, and each recommendation includes a Sign up link that takes the volunteer directly into the relevant signup flow.
What appears in the public volunteer calendar?
The public Volunteer Calendar lets volunteers filter by:
- Sign-up page
- Open spots
From there, they can select Sign up to go directly to that campaign's sign-up page.
What permissions are involved with volunteer staffing tools?
The Volunteer Attendance Board access right is staff-role permission. It controls access to the Attendance Board, and the match preview and volunteer-notification actions are available only to staff whose role includes that permission.
