Donate your bid option

With this auction setting, bidders will be given the option to donate all or a portion of their bid if they do not win an item

 

Auction setting to give bidders the option to donate their full or portion of their bid if they don't win the auction item.

 

When a bid is accepted, the bidder has the opportunity to contribute either the full bid amount or a selected percentage as a donation. The chosen donation amount will be associated with that item for the bidder. If the bidder does not win the auction item, a one-time donation for the specified amount will be processed. Bidders may choose to donate with each bid placed on an item, but only one donation per item per bidder will be processed.

 

The guest can view and remove their donate option from their guest page.

 

When the auction item is awarded to the highest bidder, the bidders will be sent an SMS notification that their item was awarded to someone else, that will give them option to donate their bid.  See below example:

If they select to donate their bid, they will be taken to their guest page where they can confirm and adjust if necessary. See example below:
