Yes — silent auction bidders receive an outbid text notification, provided they entered their phone number when registering to bid or purchasing their ticket, and you have opted into Basic Messaging. Live auction bidders do not receive text notifications because the auction moves too quickly, but their bid status updates in real time on their auction page.

• How does the silent auction outbid notification work?

  The following example walks through the bidding and notification sequence:

  In the example below, the guest will be bidding on a silent auction item.

• The guest clicks on Bid and then sends their bid through.

• As they will be the highest bidder at the time, they will see the below pop-up window visible notifying them that they are currently the highest bidder.

• Once another guest outbids them, they will receive a text message notifying them they have been outbid.

• Why don't live auction bidders receive outbid text notifications?

  Live auction bidders do not receive text notifications when outbid because the live auction moves through the software too quickly. Instead, their current bid status updates in real time on their auction page, providing immediate feedback the moment they are outbid.
