Email Sending Domains

Setup sending domains to enable emails to be sent from your organization email address

A sending domain is a domain that is used to indicate who an email is from via the "From:" header. By linking your email sending domain to BetterUnite, you ensure that your emails originate from your domain rather than from betterunite.com. This process also guarantees compliance with authentication standards and sending policies established by leading email inbox providers.

You can configure DNS records for a sending domain to enable recipient mail servers to verify your messages.

For maximum deliverability, we recommend configuring email sending domains. This is an easy way to help mailbox providers authenticate your emails.

Quick Notes

  • To connect your domain, you'll need to update your DNS records. Ensure you have the login details for your DNS provider and access to the necessary DNS records, or reach out to an IT team member in your organization who can access the DNS records of your email domain host service provider.

  • Once you've configured your DNS records, BetterUnite may need 15 to 30 minutes to confirm that they're correctly established. After completing the setup, you can check the status of your DNS records in your domain settings.

Set up authentication for your email sending domain

To fully authenticate your email sending domain, you can navigate to your email & domain settings:

  • In your BetterUnite account, click the settings icon in the top navigation bar.

  • In the left sidebar menu, navigate to Email & Domain

  • Click Add Sending Email Domain.

  • In the dialog box, enter the Email Address to be used as your sending email, then click Connect

  • Note the DNS verification instructions and use these values to Update your DNS entries

Once you have added your sending domain:

You will be able to check and update it's status by clicking the Verify Domain button.

Note that DNS updates may take 15-30 minutes to propagate so there may be a delay between the updates and the platform's ability to see the updates. If you just made the updates, you can keep checking verification status.

When the sending domain is verified:

Your emails you send within BetterUnite to your contacts or guests will now come from your sending email address instead of BetterUnite.
