Getting Started with BetterUnite
Congratulations on a great decision - on-boarding BetterUnite's powerful suite of fundraising and organizational tools. Let's start raising money!
Welcome to BetterUnite!
- To get started, just follow these two simple steps:
- Confirm your email.
- Set up your funding account.
- Now you'll be ready to start raising funds!
Confirm Your Email
- When you first log in, you will be prompted to confirm your email. Check your inbox for a verification email and follow the instructions to confirm your email address. If you don't see the email, check your junk or spam folder, or click the link to resend the verification email.
Setup Funding Account
Confirm Your Location:
- Before setting up online funding, confirm your organization's location by selecting the country where your nonprofit is legally established, then click "Continue."
Select Funding Option:
- After confirming your location, you will be prompted to choose a funding option. BetterUnite offers integration with Stripe and PayPal.
- Stripe: Supports credit card payments with fees of 2.9% + 30¢ per transaction, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and instant payout options.
- PayPal: Supports PayPal and Venmo payments with fees of 2.59% + 49¢ per credit card transaction, and 3.49% + 49¢ per PayPal and Venmo button transaction. Apple Pay and Google Pay support is coming soon.
- Click "Sign Up" under your preferred payment processor and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.
- Congratulations! You’re now ready to start raising funds.
Start a Campaign
It's time to start your first campaign!
- Click on the Home button in the top left corner of the screen.
- Once on the home page select the Start button next to Active Campaigns.
- Choose the type of Campaign you want to start.
- In the example below, In-Person Event is chosen from the list.
- Once you click on In-Person Event, the new window will ask you to enter the title of your event.
- Enter your event title and click Start Event.
- Once you click Create Event, the below window will open to enter all the details needed for your Campaign.

Donate Now Page
Overview
- Bonus points! Setting up your Donate Now page is a great way to enhance your fundraising efforts. Rather than having a basic form, we recommend creating a page linked to the Donate Now button on your organization's website. This page will act as a landing page for your organization within the BetterUnite system.
- Your Donate Now page will showcase your amazing mission and organization, and provide donors with a list of all active campaigns, events, membership pages, and volunteer pages—essentially any way a prospective donor can engage with your organization.
Setup
- Start by clicking on the Giving Pages Button on the top of the screen.
- Select which campaign's giving page you'd like to setup.
- Click on the Edit Giving Page button.
- Answer the questions and customize the content.
