How do I see transaction details, and what do they mean?
To locate a transaction in BetterUnite see article How do I find a transaction ?. On the Transactions page (Giving -> Transactions) you can view individual transactions and pull up their details.
- Click View to pull up the payment details pop-up window.
- The pop up will display the date/time, payer, method of payment, purchased items/offer/tickets, as well as a break down of the charges that make up the total payment.
This break down includes:
- Intended payment amount: This is the amount that the payer has selected to give to your organization or the total ticket amount if it was a ticket purchase. Basically the donor enters this total amount when checking out.
- Gross amount paid by donor: This is the total amount the payer ended up paying after any fees were covered including any BetterUnite tips
- Payment processing fee paid by [payee or organization]: payment processing fees (credit card processing fees by payment processor, WePay) are always paid either by the donor or your organization. Depending on the settings on the specific giving page, the donor may have chosen, or made mandatory to pay, or the organization may have elected to cover these fees. The total fee amount is shown here.
- Tip by the [donor / organization] to BetterUnite, applied from gross: This is the amount given to BetterUnite as a tip, above and beyond the intended donation amount for your organization.
- Net Received: this is the amount that will be available for you after all the fees are subtracted from the gross amount paid by the donor.
- Add Tag: you can tag particular donations with any tag you may reuse or create on the spot as you enter them in. These tags are then searchable on the Giving->Donations page, advanced search area.
- Set deductible amount: you can manually specify an amount that can be deductible. This amount will be shown in the donation details, as well as when you export the donations and it can be used for providing any follow on reporting to the donor around deductibility instructions.
- Receipt: this button will show you the options for confirmation and Receipt.
- View Confirmation Page: this option provides options to view the donation confirmation page that the donor would have also seen when they completed their purchase. And this will also resend the confirmation to the donor.
- View Receipt Email: This option provides the option to view the receipt email that will be sent to the guest.
- Re-send Receipt Email: This option provides the option to re-send the receipt to the donor.
- View Receipt: This option allows you to view the receipt of the transaction.
- Print Receipt: This option allows you to print the receipt.
Bulk Re-Send Receipts
- You can re-send receipts for multiple contacts on your Transactions page. You can select some or all transactions, and the Bulk Actions button appears, with the option to Bulk Re-Send Receipts.
- It will do the same as if you opened each payment record by clicking the view button and selecting the “Re-send Receipt” option.
