How to request data from your current processor to import to Stripe

Different payment processors have their own requirements for requesting a data export. Some may charge a fee, while others require specific forms to be completed.

A practical first step is to contact their support team with a request like this:

I’d like to export my customer and payment method data from my account with you so it can be imported into Stripe.

Stripe is a PCI Level 1 service provider, meaning they follow strict security standards for handling sensitive data. If needed, their PCI Attestation of Compliance (AoC) is available upon request.

For security purposes, Stripe requires that the exported data be encrypted using their PGP key, available here: https://stripe.com/docs/security/pgp-migration-key

Stripe will provide SFTP credentials for secure file transfer, which I will share with you so your team can upload the data directly.

Please let me know the next steps to begin the export process.

Once you have confirmation from your merchant that they can adhere to this process, reach out to BetterUnite support team to start the migration process with Stripe. In this step, BetterUnite initiates a migration request with Stripe to engage their migration team who will facilitate further steps, communication, and coordination with PayPal.
