January Nonprofit of the Month: Fusebox Festival

NPO of the Month Blog Header-3

Fusebox Festival has collaborated with artists across most genres to create unforgettable experiences. Based in Austin, TX, Fusebox was founded by a group of artists in 2005, who wanted to create a robust exchange of ideas across different art forms and geography, with a particular interest in the live experience. Today Fusebox partners with organizations all over the world ranging from small grassroots organizations to major art centers and festivals, and produces two festivals (The Fusebox Festival & Live in America) along with year-round programming and events.

Fusebox Festival supports the community of Central Texas and beyond by providing vital resources for artists and by addressing civic issues relevant to contemporary life. Through these efforts Fusebox strives for a spirit of equity, joy and generosity.

Coming up on February 26th, is the 2nd annual Fusebash - the Festivus for the Restivus! This out-of-the-box event will be a carnival-inspired experience with performances by Fusebox artists past, present and future. These include a Shaboom! premiere performance; improvs by Golden Dawn Arkestra musicians and dancers; you can perform in an artist created photo booth featuring photog Barbara FG; you can ride a 3 story high ferris wheel; and you can dance the night away in the Color Condition Streamer Suits with DJ LouLou of Night Glitter & Thievery Corp.

These amazing opportunities are paired with creative cuisine from L'Oca d'OroOlamaie and Leroy & Lewis chefs, cocktails and a live auction.  This will certainly be a one-of-a-kind event celebrating the performing arts!
