Membership - Sign Up Pages

Once you have created your Membership Plans, you can give members access to them by building a Membership Sign Up Page and sharing the link.

A Membership Sign Up Page is a campaign page that exposes one or more of your membership plans to potential members. You can create multiple sign-up pages to target different audiences, highlight different plan subsets, or run membership drives with different branding.

Before creating a sign-up page, make sure you have at least one Membership Plan set up. See Membership Management for instructions on creating plans.

Navigating to Sign Up Pages

  • Navigate to Contacts > Membership Management to open the Membership Center.
  • In the left sidebar, click Sign-up Pages.
  • The Sign-up Pages section has three tabs: Draft Pages, Active Pages, and All Pages. Each page row has Edit, Manage, and View actions.

Create a Sign Up Page

  • Click + Create a Sign Up in the top right corner of the Sign-up Pages tab.
  • In the pop-up window, enter a title for your sign-up page and click Create Sign Up Page. The Membership Campaign type is already selected, simply enter the Title when prompted. The title is used internally and as the default page heading you can change it on the Basics tab later if needed.

Once created, you will be taken to the sign-up page editor.

The editor has several tabs on the left side: Basics, Content, Membership Plans, Communications, Advanced, Access Codes, Funding. Work through each tab to build your page.

Basics

  • Change the page Title and URL if needed. The URL is what you will share with potential members.
  • Upload a representative image or video to appear at the top of your page.
  • Add sponsor logos and social media links if applicable.

Content

  • Membership Page Content: Write the main body text for your page. Use this space to describe your membership program, list benefits, and explain what members gain by joining.
  • Membership Page Tagline: A short, optional headline or summary that appears prominently on the page. This is ideal for a brief value statement.

Membership Plans

This is where you add the plans that potential members can choose from. Each plan is exposed as an “offer” on the page. You can add multiple offers, and each offer maps to one underlying membership plan.

  • Click Add Plan to open the offer pop-up.

Configuring a Plan Offer

  • Title: The name members will see for this offer on your page. This can differ from the internal plan name — for example, your internal plan might be called “Gold 2026” but you can display it as “Gold Member.”
  • Plan: Select the membership plan from the dropdown. The system will automatically display the different plans you have created in your Membership Center (amount, frequency, duration). You can change the public-facing title and description without affecting the plan itself.
  • Description: Add a rich-text description of this specific offer. Use this to highlight what’s included in the plan for a member’s context (benefits, access, perks).
  • Image: Optionally upload an image to represent this offer on the page.
  • Availability: Control when this offer is visible or purchasable (for example, an early-bird window).
  • Click Advanced Options to access additional offer settings:

  • Fair Market Value: Enter the FMV of this membership if applicable (used for tax acknowledgment purposes).
  • Show Purchasers to Public: If selected, purchasers—and guests for ticket offers—will be shown on the public page. Please state this on your campaign page in case someone prefers not to appear.  Any “anonymous” selections will be honored.
  • Auto-tag Contacts: Upon purchase of this membership, the purchaser contact will be tagged with the provided tags within the CRM.
  • Auto-tag Transactions: Upon purchase of this item, the transaction record will be tagged with the provided tags in the transactions area.
  • P2P Access: You can determine if this item will show on main campaign or  pages. By default the item will be shown on both pages.
  • Limit P2P Max Qty: If you want to limit the maximum quantity sold on child campaign, enter it here. If limitless, leave it blank.
  • Reference Number: An optional internal reference number assigned to this ticket type.
  • Click Save when the offer is configured. Repeat to add additional offers for other plans.

Please note: Members can sign up for one membership plan at a time from the sign-up page. If you want to offer multiple tiers, add each as a separate offer on the same page.

Access Codes

  • Add access codes to restrict who can see certain offers, or discount codes to apply price reductions at checkout.
  • For full details on how access and discount codes work, see Access and Discount Codes.

Customize

Checkout Options

  • Configure what information members must provide at checkout. Options include requiring a phone number, mailing address, date of birth, and other contact fields. Check or add any fields that are required for your membership program. See the Checkout Options article for detailed instructions.

  • When all sections are complete, click Activate to make your sign-up page live.
  • Once active, copy the page URL from the Dashboard>Links/Embed/QR button and share it so potential members can sign up.
  • You can "Mark Campaign as Complete" at any time to stop new sign-ups without deleting the page or affecting existing subscriptions by going to the Dashboard>Actions.

New in June 2026

The following membership sign-up features were added or updated in the June 2026 platform release:

  • Setup Fee / One-Time Payment: Plans can now include an optional one-time initiation fee charged at sign-up in addition to the recurring membership amount. Configure this under More Options when adding an offer.
  • Auto-Renew at Checkout: Members can now choose to enable auto-renew during sign-up and specify the number of billing cycles they want to be billed. This setting is modifiable after sign-up if the plan allows it.
  • Household Memberships: BetterUnite now supports household memberships, which allow a single subscription to cover multiple household members. Refer to the Household Memberships article for setup details.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I have more than one sign-up page?
Yes. You can create as many sign-up pages as you need — for example, one per membership tier, one for a membership drive, or one per audience segment. Each page can expose a different subset of your plans.

Can I show the same plan on multiple sign-up pages?
Yes. A single membership plan can be added as an offer on multiple sign-up pages, with different titles, descriptions, and images on each page.

Will editing a sign-up page affect existing members?
No. Changes to the sign-up page (including offer names, descriptions, and images) only affect new visitors. Existing subscriptions are not modified when you edit the page.

What happens if I deactivate a plan that is on a sign-up page?
Deactivating a plan prevents new sign-ups for that plan, but does not cancel existing subscriptions. The offer will no longer be purchasable on the sign-up page.

Can a member sign up for more than one plan from the same page?
Members can sign up for one membership plan at a time through a sign-up page. If a member wants to hold multiple memberships, they would need to sign up separately for each.

Do sign-up pages support discount codes?
Yes. Add discount codes on the Access Codes tab to offer reduced pricing to specific members or during a promotional period.

Where do I find the link to share with potential members?
The page URL is shown on the Basics tab and on the page Dashboard under the Links/Embed/QR button once the page has been created. Activate the page before sharing the link so members can complete sign-up.
