How to Remove a Guest's Card-On-File

Removing an authorized card for a guest in BetterUnite is a simple and quick process.

This article explains how to remove a card on file for a guest. Four methods are available: via the Check-In Guests icon (Method 1), via the Check-In Guests pop-up (Method 2), via the Guest List (Method 2), or via the Guest Carts (Method 4.

Method 1: Check-In Guests
  • Navigate to the Event Dashboard and select Check-in Guests

  • Locate the guest, select the green highlighted card icon, then select x Remove Card

  • Click OK to confirm the action

  • This action will delete the card-on-file for the guest, allowing them to authorize a new card from their personal guest experience page or giving you the option to authorize one on their behalf.
  • Permanent Action: Once removed, the card cannot be recovered. This action cannot be undone. 
Method 2: Check-In Guests (via Pop-Up)
  • Alternatively, within Guest Check-in, locate and select the guest’s name or click the CHECK IN button.

  • In the In the pop up window, you'll see a green Card Authorized button, indicating that a card is currently on file. To remove the card on file, click the dropdown arrow, then select Remove Card.

  • Click OK to confirm the action
  • This action will delete the card-on-file for the guest, allowing them to re-authorize a new card from their personal guest experience or giving you the option to authorize one on their behalf.
Method 3: Guest List
  • Navigate to the Event Dashboard and select Guest List

  • Locate the guest and select View Guest

  • Then, select Edit Guest
  • In the pop-up window, you'll see a green Card Authorized button, indicating that a card is currently on file. To remove the card on file, click the dropdown arrow, then select Remove Card.

  • Click OK to confirm the action
  • This action will delete the card-on-file for the guest, allowing them to re-authorize a new card from their personal guest experience or giving you the option to authorize one on their behalf.
Method 4: Guest Cart
  • Navigate to the Event Dashboard and select Manage Carts>Guest Carts
  • Locate the guest's cart and select Options>Remove Card on File
