Stretch Goals
Anytime before or after your campaign is launched, you can provide one or more campaign goals. These goals are completely separate from any specific campaign funding goal you may set on the campaign, and are surfaced on the campaign landing page in a different area than the funding goal.
You may use goals to provide information to your donors on incremental gains, or you can create stretch goals that are higher than your original funding goal so as to encourage your donors to achieve above and beyond your original targets.
To get started, login to BetterUnite and go to the Edit Campaign page of your campaign. In the campaign details area, locate the "Other" tab and select "Goals". This will display the Goals tab to allow you to create new goals. (If the campaign has at least one goal created, this tab will be automatically shown on the edit page)
Define your goals in ever increasing order of amount, and give your potential donors concrete impact that each goal will help you achieve in your mission.
The system will automatically calculate and mark achieved goals as completed as the fundraising continues. You can create goals anytime before or during the campaign life-cycle, and the calculations will still be made and the goals will be marked appropriately. Whilst the administration page (Edit Campaign) show all of the goals, with indication of which ones are completed, the goal that is currently on the horizon next, and future goals (marked with empty circle), the campaign landing page (the public landing page for your donors) will show all completed goals, and will only show the next goal in line, i.e. it will not show future goals. This is by design to make sure you are encouraging donors to the next target in your fundraising milestones.
