Supporter Activity Filters
Every contact record now carries a summary of what that person has done across BetterUnite: their membership, the events they registered for, the hours they volunteered and their auction activity. You can filter on these facts, show them as columns on the Contacts list, export them, and use them to personalize emails. That means you can build lists like "gala guests who are not members" or "volunteers with 20 or more hours this year" without exporting and matching spreadsheets.
The fields
| Group | Field | What it shows |
|---|---|---|
| Membership | Membership status | The contact's current standing: Current, Past due, Payment failed, Pending first payment, Starts in the future, Completed or Canceled. If the contact holds more than one membership, the most active one is used. Household members share the membership they belong to. Blank means the contact has never been a member. |
| Membership | Membership renews or ends | The end date of that membership, or its next invoice date if it has no end date. |
| Membership | Member since | The start date of the contact's earliest membership. |
| Events | Events registered | How many different events the contact registered for. Invitations and "Not attending" responses are not counted. Several tickets to the same event count once. |
| Events | Events checked in | How many different events the contact was checked in at. |
| Events | Last event date | The date of the most recent event they registered for that has already happened. |
| Events | Next registered event | The date of the soonest upcoming event they are registered for. |
| Volunteering | Volunteer hours this year | Approved volunteer hours in the current calendar year. |
| Volunteering | Volunteer hours (lifetime) | All approved volunteer hours. |
| Auction | Auction bids placed | Confirmed bids on auction items. |
| Auction | Auction items won | Items the contact won or bought. |
| Auction | Auction total won | The total of the winning bids on those items. |
When the fields update: BetterUnite recalculates these fields with each contact's giving totals, about once a day. A check-in, a new membership or approved hours show up within a day, not immediately.
Filter contacts by these fields
- Go to Contacts and open the advanced filter builder.
- Choose a field from the Membership, Events, Volunteering or Auction group.

Show the fields as columns
On the Contacts list, open Modify grid columns and add any of the fields. Each column can be sorted. The same columns are available on guest reports.
Export the fields
The fields are included in contact exports, and in donation and guest exports when you choose contact columns. Dates are exported in your organization's date format.
Personalize emails
Use these merge tags in email content. The email editor also lists them in its merge tag menu. Text messages do not support these merge tags.
