Taking Credit Card Payment

A credit card payment can be processed for a contact in the system.

If the contact is not in the system, you could simply go to the appropriate giving page and complete the transaction similar to how the end payer would.

If the contact is already in the system then follow these steps:

• Locate and open the card. Contacts-> Contacts & Donor Management.
• Scroll to the Payments section.

• Click the Add button.
• Select the "Take a payment" option.

• You will see a pop up to select the specific fundraiser/event/giving page to associate this payment with.  If its a general donation to your organization, then you can choose Always-On.

• When you have selected the appropriate fundraiser, you will be redirected to the payment page for that fundraiser, with the contact information automatically locked in.
• On this page, you can complete the transaction.
• Note: the ability to take credit card information from donors over the phone, or take possession of the card details, is governed by strict merchant laws and guidelines. Please be sure to follow these and adhere to any limitations.
