How do I Change User Roles and Restrictions?
Easily manage user roles and permissions within the BetterUnite platform to ensure each team member has the appropriate level of access. Customize roles to fit the unique needs of your organization, from full access to specific event check-in permissions.
Manage Users
- Start by clicking on the settings button in the top right of the screen (gear icon).
- Under the Users tab, you'll find the Manage Users section.
- When you edit or create a user, you have the ability to specify the roles assigned to that user. Currently, the system has three distinct roles that can be assigned to any user, or you can fill out custom access for your user.
- Full Access: This is the system administrator access level and grants full access to all of the functionality. If you grant Full access to any user, you don't need to give them any other access rights as this will cover all functions in the system.
- Manage Funding: This is an additive role to the 'Full Access' role. It grants additional access to view and manage funding accounts (e.g. Stripe, PayPal). Users with this role can view funding payouts and manage bank account details.
- Guest Check-In Only: Users with this role can only access functionality in order to perform the event check in process. This includes the Manage Attendees page, the ability to create and update contacts. However, it does not include seeing contact's purchase history, or exporting to file.
- Custom Access: You can also give custom access to a user by checking or unchecking the boxes shown below.
- Fields explained
- Contacts
- View: Access the contact page with the contact header level information.
- Edit: Edit the contact details.
- History: View historical information about the contacts e.g. activity history, event participation, Etc..
- Delete: Delete a contact.
- Campaigns
- Read: View the campaigns including campaign dashboard.
- Edit: Edit any campaign. However, any campaign specific pin code will override this setting.
- Launch: Launch campaigns.
- Donations
- View: View donations.
- Edit: Edit donation records, including refunds.
- Contacts
- After you have decided what level of security your user will get, click on either, Add User and Send Invite or Add User (do not send invite)
