WePay rules on auctions and raffles

WePay supports NonProfits to host Auctions as well as Raffles as long as the merchant follows the requirements below:

  1. The organization KYC’ed must be a verifiable NPO and have an adequate online presence to determine their legitimacy  
  2. The prize or item cannot be an item that would be against WePay's Terms of Service. This could include things like firearms or anything that could be considered controversial. 
  3. The organization must acknowledge and affirm that they will adhere to the WePay policy and will be responsible to comply with state-specific auction/raffle/sweepstakes laws.

Note: WePay is ultimately the decision maker on whether they will take action on a particular event, auction or raffle, based on some of the criteria above. When an auction or raffle is created, WePay may reach out and ask you to verify some information and make a determination.  The above requirements are information we, as BetterUnite, received from WePay, however, they may change over time and we are not responsible to ensure your event is adhering to WePay terms and conditions, this is between you and the payment processor as they are processing payments for these items.
