What are tags?
Tags are a powerful feature that allow users to associate keywords with Contacts to create ad hoc groups that can then be searched against.
Add a Tag
- To add a tag, head to your Contacts page: Contacts -> Contacts & Donor Management.
- Select a contact from your list and on their page hit Edit.
- As you start typing a tag in the Tags text box on a Contact record, the system will auto-suggest tags based on previously created tags.
- If you don't choose an existing tag, and you complete your keywords and hit Add to create a new one. Tags can have spaces in them.
- When a new tag is added, the new tag will then be available to be used by other users as they are tagging contacts. Click Contacts-> Contacts & Donor Management
- Click Filter.
- You are able to search by tags to locate contacts as shown below.
- Compared to the group functionality also available, tagging is an easier and quicker mechanism for categorizing contacts.
- The tag concept is also available for donations. Click on the details of the donation->Actions->Add Tags.
- To add tags for volunteer hour entries in the BetterUnite system, click on the Tag icon next to the Volunteer job as shown below.
