What is Peer-to-Peer Activity Tracking?

P2P Activity Tracking is used for campaigns where supporters participate in an activity (running, walking, cycling, training minutes, workouts, steps, etc.) and raise money based on that activity. It enables campaign administrators to define what gets tracked, collect participant activity logs, and tie progress to fundraising outcomes like pledges, badges, and reporting.

In this module, each child fundraising campaign represents the participant/fundraiser. Activity, goals, badges, and pledges are attributed to the child campaign.

What kinds of campaigns and events use activity tracking?

Activity tracking is typically used for:

Walk-a-thons / Run-a-thons / Ride-a-thons
Track miles or kilometers and rank participants, teams, or fundraisers.

Fitness or wellness challenges (individual or team-based)
Track minutes exercised, workouts completed, steps, or other measurable activities.

“Do it your way” virtual events
Participants complete activities on their own schedule and log progress over time.

School / community pledge drives
Supporters pledge per unit of participation (e.g., per lap, per mile) or give a flat amount.

Multi-week fundraising challenges
Combine weekly tasks, badge milestones, and leaderboards to keep engagement high.
