Why do I see different totals in my campaign pages?
There are various components that make up what may be considered as total transaction amount.
For example, a donor wants to donate $100 to you, they type in $100 in the amount box. Then they decide that they want to take on the credit card fees for you, so they opt-in to cover the card fees. They then decide that they will also keep a tip/fee for BetterUnite at $5. So their total check out amount is $108.2. When we try to show you a total in your dashboard, we would show you 103.2 as this was really the intended total payment to your organization. The $5 was above and beyond their intended amount for you and they intended this amount for BetterUnite alone. The $103.2 ends up netting you $100. In different places we may show you the intended donation amount, or the net amount, and in some cases event the gross payment amount (this detail will show up in the exports, where you will also see the above breakdown clearly).
On your Campaign Dashboard we display the amount raised under At a Glance which is the total amount received from your donors (actual processed payments by default) and it also shows the pending purchases amount which are the amounts in the shopping carts that have not been processed yet.
You can modify the types of totals shown. To view options on what to total, click on Edit Event under your Action Center.
Select Advanced Tab as shown below.
In the section Progress Indicator Options, indicate the amount displayed for your campaign progress. Either, Gross amount paid to your campaign or Net Amount received.
Second part of the options, Indicate if you'd like to reflect in-progress transactions like auction items or other in-event purchases in shopping carts in your campaign progress. You can either select the default option of Include Completed Transactions only or Include in-progress transactions/shopping cart items.
Thermometer would also show your campaign progress. Click on Thermometer under your Action Center as shown below.
As shown below the total raised shows the gross amount raised for this campaign. You can click the edit icon on this page to modify what is being counted as total here as well.
You can also view the totals with breakdown through exported files. Click Reports Tab and select Event Analysis Report.
On the summary page of your Event Analysis Report it shows the Total Raised amount as the amount received.
