How to Split a Payment for an Auction Item
How to split payment for an auction item between 2 or more people or carts.
- From your Event Dashboard, navigate to Manage Carts

- Within Manage Carts, select the Quick Add tab. Note: you will see all open guest carts on the Guest Carts tab.

Award and Add Auction Items via Quick Add to winner/s carts
For example: an auction package is a trip and it was purchased for $12,000. They want to split the package 3 ways. Follow the below steps:
- Search and select the offer or auction item name or number. Note that you must first upload your auction packages. Read this article for details on Adding Auction Items.

- Then add or search the first one of the Guest Name or Bidder's Bid Number of who is splitting it.

- Adjust the winning amount to what the split amount would be (ie. $4,000 for the example above, select Add to Cart.
- You will be prompted to select Yes, Update the Auction Item. Selecting this option will mark the auction item as awarded, designate the guest as the winner in the Auction, and trigger the winning bidder notification via email and text, if applicable. With people splitting a package, you can still do this and publicly it will show that there were "Multiple" winners.
- No, Just add to cart, do not update Auction item, does not trigger the winning bidder notification and does not display the winner's name on the item on the guest bidding page or the public auction page as the winner. You can do this to eliminate any confusion especially if you are checking someone out right then or after the event.

- Repeat the same steps for the 2nd and 3rd party who will also be paying for the same item at $4,000 each.
- The auction item will now show in each of those carts for $4,000 each.
- If you have already added this item for the full amount to one cart. We suggest deleting it from that cart and following the steps above to make receipting and reporting easier after the event.
- *** Please note that you do NOT have to create 3 auction items! You can simply add the same item to multiple carts for different or the same amount.***
