PayPal merchant options

We recommend accessing your PayPal.com merchant account and thoroughly reviewing the account settings to explore the options provided by PayPal. These settings can directly influence the features enabled on your BetterUnite donation pages linked to your PayPal merchant account. 

Here are some settings for you to explore:

Turn on Direct Card Payments

Direct Card Processing is required to show payment card fields on your checkout form. If this is not enabled (the processor details page on your BetterUnite settings will indicate this status for you), you may follow this link to login and complete your onboarding application or login to your PayPal account and follow up with PayPal support to establish this capability.

Turn on Guest Checkout Experience

By enabling this feature, donors can use the PayPal button on the checkout page to make a payment without having a PayPal account login. When they click on the PayPal button, a 'Check out as guest' option will be presented in a pop-up window by PayPal. This functionality is particularly beneficial when using the embedded form, where it serves as the primary button displayed.

To activate this feature, you will need to adjust your settings in PayPal. Please follow these instructions by PayPal to make these adjustments on your account.
