Grant details
The grant record is the core of everything else. It holds the funder, the amounts, the status and the key dates — and every other feature in Grant Center hangs off it.

Adding a grant
- Go to Giving → Grant Center.
- Click Add Grant in the top right.
- Give the grant a name, choose the funder, and fill in whatever you know. Nothing except the name is required — you can add the rest as you learn it.
- Click Save.
The fields
The key dates
Grant Center tracks five application dates, and which one it treats as your live deadline depends on where the grant is. This is deliberate: a grant you have already submitted should not still be chased for its letter-of-intent date.
The same rule governs the deadline agenda, the work queue and the reminder emails, so all three always agree about what is outstanding.
Dates are calendar dates in your organization's timezone. A deadline of 30 September is 30 September for everyone on your team, wherever they are.
Copying a grant
Use Copy from the grant's action menu to start a new grant from an existing one — useful when a funder's application is much the same each cycle. The copy brings across the descriptive fields and leaves last cycle's history behind.
If you are specifically renewing an award you have finished, use Renew on the Closeout panel instead: it shifts every date forward by the award's own period length and links the two grants together. See Closing out and renewing a grant.
Deleting a grant
Deleting a grant is permanent and requires the Administer Grant Center permission. Donations that were linked to the grant are not deleted — they simply stop being attributed to it.
