Requirements and the grant schedule
The Schedule tab on a grant separates what you owe the funder from what the funder owes you, and keeps anything unclassified visible in a third group so nothing gets lost.

- Requirements — obligations you have to satisfy.
- Payments — installments you expect to receive. See Payment schedules.
- Other — milestones that have not been typed yet.
Requirement types
The type shapes which fields the editor offers and how the item is worded in reminders. It carries no authority of its own — an item is not treated differently by the system for being called a narrative report.
Requirement status
There is no "overdue" status, and that is deliberate. Overdue is worked out from the due date and the status every time it is displayed, so it can never go stale against the calendar. An item that is accepted, waived or cancelled is never overdue no matter how long ago its date passed.
Adding a requirement
- Open the grant and go to Schedule & work → Schedule.
- Click Add item and choose Requirement.
- Set the type, the title, and the due date. Add a period if the requirement covers one — a quarterly report has a start and an end.
- Optionally assign an owner. Reminders for the item then go to that person rather than the grant owner.
- Optionally tick Create a linked task to raise a task at the same time, so the work appears in the assignee's task list as well as the schedule.
- Save.
Recurring requirements
See Recurring requirements for reporting obligations that repeat.
