Membership Management Overview

BetterUnite's Membership Management module automates recurring payment processing and gives you a centralized hub for managing your entire membership program. Everything lives in the Membership Center.

Navigating to the Membership Center

To access the Membership Center, navigate to Contacts > Membership Management. The left sidebar displays all available sections: Overview, Plans, Sign Up Pages, Subscriptions, Payments, Portal, and Settings.

Overview Dashboard

The Overview page shows revenue and forecast graphics for your membership program along with key metrics like active subscribers and total revenue.

New in June 2026: Two new tabs have been added to the Overview page:

• Expiring Cards: Surfaces members whose payment cards are expiring within approximately 90 days, so you can reach out before payments begin failing.
• Expiring Subscriptions: Surfaces subscriptions nearing their end date so you can take action before members lapse.

Plans

Membership Plans define the billing amount, frequency, and duration of recurring payments. New in June 2026: Plans can also enable Household Memberships under Advanced Options.

Membership Sign Up Pages

Sign Up Pages let potential members discover and subscribe to your plans. You can share the page link directly or embed it on your website.

Subscriptions

When someone signs up through a Sign Up Page, a subscription record is created. It tracks the plan, billing dates, payment history, and status. Admins can manage subscriptions — including cancelling, stopping renewal, extending, or (new in June 2026) reinstating a cancelled subscription — from the Subscriptions tab.

Payments and Invoices

The Payments tab shows all successful, scheduled, and failed payments and invoice records. Filter by contact, plan, or date range.

Supporter Portal

The Supporter Portal is the self-service hub where members manage their own memberships. Redesigned in June 2026, it now includes a Member ID card with QR code, household member management, full payment history, volunteer tracking, messages, and document access.

Admins can view any member's portal from their contact record.

Settings

Membership Settings cover notification controls, portal access permissions, and failed payment handling. New in June 2026: Expanded notification options including team notifications, adjustable reminder timing, billing-frequency filtering, and household adult renewal reminders.

New in June 2026

The following features and improvements were released in June 2026:

• Expiring Cards and Expiring Subscriptions tabs added to the Overview dashboard, making it easier to act before payments fail or members lapse.
• Household Memberships — enable on any plan under Advanced Options. See Household Memberships.
• Reinstate Subscription — restart a cancelled or failed subscription directly from the Actions menu. See Reinstate Subscription.
• Supporter Portal redesigned — new Member ID card, QR code, household controls, full payment history, volunteer tracking, messages, and document access. See Supporter Portal.
• Expanded notification controls in Settings — team notifications, adjustable reminder timing, billing-frequency filtering, and household adult renewal reminders.
• Membership Pro: Member Directory, Global Announcements/Alerts/Benefits, and Custom Portal Pages. See Portal Settings.
